I've been making so many cupcake orders lately and I love it so much! Cupcakes are incredibly fun and there are so many ways to customize them!

This order had four different flavors:
Chocolate cake with dark chocolate ganache filling
Orange cake with orange creamsicle buttercream filling
Super Confetti cake with fresh raspberry jam filling
Pink Velvet cake with strawberry buttercream filling

And all were frosted with vanilla luxe buttercream 🤤🤤🤤

This client chose to add just a few handmade fondant toppers to the order, and that is the best part of custom: you can actually customize! You don't have to order 12 of everything. Mix and match, get just 1 cupcake special, have it however you want AND keep it in your budget! ❤️🖤🤍

Gender Reveal Strawberries! This was such a cool idea the client brought to me, and I was so excited to make these!

Each strawberry was triple dipped. They were first dipped in the gender color, then dipped in white chocolate to cover that, and then they were all dipped in pink, blue, and marbled for the decoration.

Typically when you dip chocolate covered strawberries, you lay them down so the bottom part of the strawberry is usually exposed a bit. This worried me because it would mean that all of the color layers would be exposed as well and the surprise would get out.

To avoid this... I had to dip these like they were cake pops and dry them upside down so there weren't any flat or exposed sides. It was definitely more time consuming and complex than basic berries. 7 berries but 21 dips is a very slow process, AND I had to make sure the temperature of the chocolate for the subsequent layer wasn't too warm to melt the layer underneath or mix with it.

It's such a fantastic example of something that presents simple, but has a complex ex*****on. This is what I love...something that lets me think deeper and try something new.

I love making custom images for cakes. I spend a lot of time at the computer making special images for cakes and it's always worth it. The extra time, customization, and high quality of the prints just add to each cake.

I spend so much time thinking about your orders and planning and carefully adding just the right amount of color and flavor to make it exactly what I think you want based on our conversations. And so much of the work is in my head just mentally sculpting and creating. Then to see this at 4am when I was starting cakes this morning (I know...I got a late start I slept in 🤣)...it gives me the extra pep in my step to make today just as amazing as yesterday.

Running a business is the hardest thing I've ever done, but it has taught me so much and helped me grow artistically, mentally, emotionally, and probably the most important: I've grown this community. I love you guys so much and I'm SO exponentially grateful you let me keep making cakes and doing what I love. I'm still an introvert to my core and I love to be alone in my kitchen, but for the first time in my life I don't feel scared to exist in front of other people.

There will always be people trying to knock you down, so we need to let the positivity scream louder. It's so easy to think about the people who laughed saying I'm crazy for selling cakes...but it's so much more powerful to embrace all of the positive feedback instead and keep building this dream. I can't wait to look back in 5-10 more years and think "oh I didn't know anything yet, I had no idea how good it was going to get."

I love marble things. Marbled buttercream. Marbled fondant. Marble background 🤷🏻‍♀️ it's my thing I guess lol. Oh AND florals 😍 so this adorable vpk grad cake has everything I adore 🥰🩷 (AND pink, black and gold!? C'mon that's the perfect assortment of everything I love!)

This beauty was a tuxedo cake (alternating layers of chocolate and vanilla cake--both tiers the same), strawberry buttercream filling with fresh sliced strawberries, and vanilla luxe buttercream frosting. (Oh! AND the client had SO many adorable tiny puppies jumping all over me when I delivered... it will go down as the best delivery in history for me. Puppy love, perfect cake, incredibly nice client celebrating her daughter in such a big way...warms my heart and checks all of my boxes 🥰)
