Love the history

Most people drive through Bushnell, Florida without ever knowing they're passing one of the most pivotal moments in American history. 🌅 On December 28, 1835, a Seminole force led by Micanopy, Alligator, and Jumper ambushed a column of U.S. Army soldiers here in the pine flatwoods, killing 108 of 110 men and sparking the Second Seminole War: the longest and costliest Indian war in U.S. history. The Dade Battlefield State Historic Site preserves this sacred ground almost exactly as it looked that morning, with reconstructed log breastworks, interpretive markers, and miles of quiet trails through original longleaf pine flatwoods. 🌿 Walking these grounds at dawn, with the fog still hanging low and the pines casting long shadows, you feel the weight of what happened here in a way no textbook can capture. So cool absolutely beautiful

Working out some Christmas designs for my upcoming bakes. This was a beautiful pre bake but post bake wasnt as successful. Still enjoy the process even if they aren’t all post bake masterpieces 🥰
**Update: tried scoring all the way around the loaf as well as doing touch ups with the “paint” after. This loaf was in the refrigerator two days so I had a feeling it was a bit bubbly/over proofed resulting in a greater chance of rouge expansion.
Next bake I will use rice flour - I only had regular flour on hand and a shorter refrigerator rest. Thank you SO much for the wonderful tips, comments and love. I feel so blessed to have found a way to combine my love of art/painting and cooking/baking.
