I will be baking mini pound cake loaves next week. If you would like to pre order some, let me know. They will be $5 each, they freeze very well. Great to take in your lunch, or to gift to someone. Flavors will be Cream Cheese, Lemon, Chocolate, Butter Pecan and Sweet Potato.

Thanksgiving is less than 6 weeks away. I am posting my cake and pie menus. Get your order in soon, I am planning to CUT ORDERS OFF ON NOVEMBER 9TH, BUT,AS YOU ALL KNOW, I ALWAYS HAVE TO CUT OFF SOONER. *If you want to order anything other than cakes and pies, CUTOFF DATE FOR THIS IS OCTOBER 31. LAST DAY TO ORDER CAKES OR PIES IS NOVEMBER 9TH. I hate to turn orders down, but if you wait too late to order, I will have to.

* I AM NOT SELLING BOILED PEANUTS! My very 1st memory of eating boiled peanuts:My daddy would plant peanuts in our garden, and we would all be out there as he pulled them up, and we would get all the loose ones and throw in the wheelbarrow with the ones he pulled up. Then we would pull all of the peanuts from the plants and wash them several times. Then he would get this great big pot, and add the peanuts, salt and water and they would boil all day, or to me as a kid, seems like it tool a week!!! Then we would sit in the living room floor on Saturday watching Hee Haw and eating boiled peanuts! That is one of my favorite memories from my childhood. I'm so glad my Daddy passed on his love of boiled peanuts to me, and I passed it to Darby. This is the recipe Daddy used, he boiled more at once than I do, but i adjusted the recipe to my needs. I did these in my 4qt electric pressure cooker. I cooked them last night and let them set over night. I had some for breakfast. *These may not be salty enough for some, but they are just right for me. I'll keep to the plain, and let others make the Cajun, pickle, and all the other flavors they have come up with.
