This took about 2.5 hours and is one of two dough days we have each week. I still have to measure and roll the cookies, along with shape and finish the dough. This is only a small portion of the entire process.

Not a good start to the week here😭

I was outside feeding the chickens and heard one freaking out in the driveway. Pretty sure it was just warning the others and the attack happened before I walked outside.

A few years ago, I had the worst anxiety around the situation and didn't even want to leave the house because of it. Our flock was being picked off daily and we were down to only 20 chickens. We got through it and have the dogs now that alert us.

Ultimately, I do what I can to protect them and routinely stop so many attacks but I know I can't stop them all. 😔

I was able to get some items made yesterday afternoon and now I'm making a plan for what my week will look like.

Today was deep cleaning day in our chicken coop.

Our chickens only spend minimal time in their coop and therefore we only deep clean the coop twice a year.

Yes, we do weekly maintenance cleaning and clean the nesting boxes as necessary but a full clean out only happens in the spring and fall.

We're able to avoid any smells and keep the eggs looking clean by letting the chickens be outside from sun up to sun down. The more space you can give them, the better.

I know the chickens are happy to be scratching around fresh bedding this evening. 😍
