Alas they've come for Dr. SEUSS, they wish to hang him with a noose. They claim his tales were racist bent, they judged him fast, missed what he meant.
But if we look inside his tales, you'll find the balance of the scales. Remember when Horton heard a Who, and we heard the wisdom of the Lorax too. The lesson behind Green Eggs and Ham, that changed the mind of Sam I am. Remember too the rotten Grinch, who once would never give an inch. He taught us lessons, one and all, boys and girls, big and small.
So if you've judged his works as poor, you should re- read them, I implore. The man we know as Dr. SEUSS, turned our imaginations loose. His impact was beyond compare, he taught us it was good to care. To accept the red, the blue, the green, and on each other we can lean.
So if you still won't give an inch, your heart has hardened like the Grinch. Release the grudge, the hate, the rue, and embrace the hope of Cindy Lou.

Mik's Bake Shop is feeling blessed to have met so many wonderful people these last several years. Thanks to all who took the time to stop in for one last visit over the last few weeks and days. It's been overwhelming to hear the comments and regards of some of our best customers as we close out our final day. Sad, to be sure, but grateful for the opportunity to have been here in our town for the time we did have. Open until 5 today, our cupcake case has been refilled once already and supplies are dwindling. Donuts will be made throughout the day.

December 23rd is Mik's last day!

Mik's is reminding you all we are closing our Doors December 23rd with an ode to Clement Clarke Moore's poem "A visit from St Nicholas"

Twas the week before Christmas, when all through Mik’s Shop
All the people were stirring, even the broom and the mop.
Cupcakes, sweets, placed in the case with great care,
in hopes their customers soon would be there.

The bakers were restless with orders to make
with visions of cookies and cupcakes to bake.
With Jen, in her apron, and Robyn, her cap
They are dreaming of an after Holiday nap.

When out at the counter there arose such a clatter.
Customers were wondering, What's going on? What' the matter?
On facebook, it’s told, you’ll be closing this year,
no more holiday cupcakes, no more donut and cookie cheer.

The cakes and the donuts, no treats to be displayed,
The kitchen will go silent, no more cookies - handmade.
No Ice cream, no smoothies, no little cake pops
No cupcakes for kiddies, no more donuts for cops.

Your kind words in the shop and on facebook online
have helped us make this transition, an easier time.
So many, many customers, and people to thank
Even schools, Oswego East, Bednarcik and Plank

There are many, many, more, who played their part
Family, friends and neighbors brought joy to my heart.
The employees worked hard and deserve great applause
toiling away in the kitchen, and really just because……

Now Robyn! Now Jen!
Now Jimmy and Rachel!
On Anthony! On Josh!
On Jordan and Gina!
In the kitchen, at the counter, and, at the market
I thank you, thank you, thank you!
I say thanks to you all!

It was fun while it lasted, but what will the future bring?
