In honor of the birthday of the woman who is the backbone of my business, I thought now would be the perfect time to share where my baking is rooted! 💕

I wanted my business to be centered around my mom because she has taught me so much of what I know about baking and cooking. “Glads” is short for gladiolus, the August birth flower, and my signature lilac color is also inspired by her favorite color: purple.

Through all the wasted flour and sugar that came with my project baking, she was always patient with me and encouraged my desire to learn. She’s always the first to ask, “What can I help with?” when I’m busy with orders. When I bake for others, it is a constant reminder that I have my mom to thank for teaching me everything that got me here.

Mom, I am forever grateful for all the knowledge you’ve given me and for everything you’ve taught me. I’ll carry it with me forever. I love you! 💕

Hello everyone!

My name is Lexi Vancura. I am currently in school and will be starting dental hygiene school this fall at the UNMC College of Dentistry. Baking has always been something I’ve loved, so I decided to turn my hobby into something I can share with others. I wanted to make this post to introduce my business, Glads and Grains Bakery!

This page will be a mixture of showcasing my favorite bakes and providing a platform for placing orders when they become available for those in the Lincoln and Ord areas.
