I made this yellow lemon themed cake for a baby shower as a favor. It was a gluten free lemon cake with strawberry filling and vanilla buttercream in a bright lemon yellow and little pink hearts. Added some real pink ribbon. I’m not great at piping words but I did the best I could.

Made this lacrosse themed cake for my friend’s son for his 17th birthday. I decided to try to make rolled buttercream instead of fondant to make the jersey and lacrosse stick. It turned out better than I expected! Rolled buttercream is basically the same ingredients as American buttercream but different ratios to be able to roll it with a rolling pin and shape it into things you want while it still tastes like buttercream. I will use this more often!

I have made some cakes over the past few weeks for friends and family and I thought it would post on this page but it didn’t. Oh well. Here’s a gluten free vanilla chocolate chip cake with peanut butter buttercream filling decorated in vanilla buttercream with gold accents and a big flower.

You know I make vegan pastry pop tarts for Seabirds Kitchen but did you know I can make large custom ones? This was a custom one that served 20. It was equivalent to 10 of the regular sized ones I normally make. I love that this was a fun alternate to a birthday cake.

I had the honor of once again making cake pops for as she talked about her new book Blood Jade at the in the Irvine Spectrum. She and wrote this book to follow their other book Ebony Gate. The cake pops were a little treat for fans and customers who came to hear her speak and buy the book. I wanted to make sure the shade of green matched the book cover. If you like fantasy, adventure, magical powers in a modern day setting, you should check it out.
It was cool to have Emma and Evelyn meet Julia. Emma was able to talk to her about her love of reading and all the stuff she loved to read. Thank you Julia for welcoming my girls as they tagged along.

Sometimes I don’t get asked to bake the cake, but just to decorate the cake. This was a Costco sheet cake that I scraped the decorative white roses and swirl frosting off of and redecorated it to be this crazy KISS band cake for a 60th birthday party. I repurposed the frosting and dyed it the colors of fire and piped flames on the sides and borders. I hand drew the members of the band on fondant with food coloring and food coloring markers, hand cut the lettering to be similar font style to the KISS logo and hand make the logo too! Birthday guy, Greg absolutely loved it and as you can tell the party theme was KISS because they had the tribute band ! It was an awesome party!

So some of you know that I bake part time and am a school counselor full time. Well, school is back in session and dealing with all that and still baking is a balancing act. I made this cute little birthday cake this week and I forgot to take pics with a nice background, so you get to see the reality of my time and I had to take pics of it in the box in the car before I delivered it. LOL.

Just a little fun rainbow sprinkled vegan birthday cake to brighten your Friday. I found vegan sprinkles that are actually quite bold in color!
