National Dress in Blue Day for colon cancer is held annually on the first Friday in March to kick off National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. In 2026, this falls on March 6, 2026. Supporters are encouraged to wear blue throughout the entire month to raise awareness and support screenings.
Key Details:
Purpose: Raise awareness, honor survivors, and promote screening (which is recommended for most at age 45).
Origin: The day was started in 2006 by Anita Mitchell, a colon cancer survivor, and is heavily supported by the Colorectal Cancer Alliance.
