One thing I never want to change as KCC grows: the quality.

As we move into this next chapter, with a bigger team, a new bakery space, and a whole lot more product going out our doors every week, I want you to know that the standard I’ve built this business on isn’t going anywhere.

I have always taken an incredible amount of pride in the products we make and the service we provide. And now, as I teach our new team our recipes, processes, and all the little details that make KCC who we are, quality is something I’m probably emphasizing more than anything else.

No matter whose hands are mixing the dough, shaping the loaves, baking the cinnamon rolls, packing your order, or handing it across the counter, I want you to feel confident that it was made to the same standard I’ve expected from myself all these years.

And with growth comes learning. We’re human, and as our team grows and we settle into this new space, if something ever isn’t right, please tell me. Send us a message, bring it to my attention, or come talk to us. I will always be willing to listen, talk through it, and do everything I reasonably can to make it right in a way you’re comfortable with.

You are not just an order number walking through our doors. Whether you’ve been buying bread from me for years or you walk into KCC for the very first time next week, your support is quite literally my livelihood and now the livelihood of a little team and business I care so deeply about.

I have an incredible amount of respect and gratitude for every person who chooses to spend their money with us. I don’t take that lightly.

KCC is growing. Our kitchen is growing. Our team is growing. Our production is growing….But our standard isn’t changing. 🤎

One last reminder — preorders are OPEN for this Saturday, September 5th, with pickup from the bakery 3-5pm.

You have until Wednesday at noon to grab whatever is still available on the site for pickup from the bakery this Saturday. Some things have already sold out, but there’s still plenty to go around!

A BIG HEADS UP FOR NEXT WEEKEND:
There will be NO PREORDERS for Saturday, September 12th.

We’ll be bringing tons and tons of KCC goodness to the Bennington Farmers Market from 9 AM–12 PM, and that will be the only way to shop KCC that weekend.

We’ll still be stocking our wholesale partners throughout the week as usual, but there will be no bakery preorder pickups.

Why? Because after the market, we’re going to conserve our energy, rest our bodies, and get that bakery READY for a pretty huge day…

OUR GRAND OPENING, TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15TH!

We want to go into opening day with full cases, full shelves, and enough energy to give you guys the KCC Bakery we’ve been working so hard to build.

So for now, get those September 5th orders in before Wednesday at noon, come see us at Bennington on the 12th, and then… WE OPEN THE DOORS!

I don’t think I’ve shared much about this on this page, but I think you guys should know about a pretty special person who is a huge part of my story.

My friend, my godmother, one of my biggest supporters, and now my angel — my Aunt Lori.

Lori was my mom’s best friend from the time they were kids, through their teenage years and well into adulthood. Because of that, I was lucky enough to have her in my life from the very beginning, for more than 20 years.

And then she was stolen from us far too soon.

An aggressive cancer took her just weeks after she was diagnosed, and there are still moments when it doesn’t feel real.

If there are a few things you should know about Lori, it’s that she loved bread, she lived life unapologetically, and she somehow managed to be an introverted extrovert — someone who could live a little in the shadows while still having a presence you couldn’t miss. She was someone I admired, loved, and related to in so many ways.

And she LOVED pink.

If you know me, you know I’m pretty heavily tattooed. But not a single tattoo on my body has color in it except for one tiny pink heart on my left hand. That one is for Lori.

Pink is probably my least favorite color on the planet, which makes it almost funny that it has become one of the colors that means the most to me. But when someone you love leaves this earth, you find them in things. For some people it’s butterflies, cardinals, certain songs or sunsets.

For me, it’s pink.

Tonight I was driving to the bakery,
something that still feels surreal to even say, and the entire sky was glowing pink. And I cried.

I just looked up and said, “Hey Lori. Thanks for cheering me on all these years. I really wish you were here to see this, but I know you’re screaming for me from heaven.”

There are so many people I wish could walk through those bakery doors when we open, but damn, I wish she could be one of them. I know she would’ve been one of the first in line, probably ready to tell everyone she knew that her girl opened a bakery.

So hold your people tight. Say the things. Chase the dream earlier than you think you’re ready to. Love people loudly and live your life unapologetically.

Time moves fast, and sometimes it’s stolen from us far too quickly.

And when the sky turns pink, I’ll keep looking up. 🩷

Orders are still OPEN for Saturday, September 5th pickups from 3–5 PM at the Bakery!

A few things have already sold out, but don’t let that fool you, there is still PLENTY to go around!

We still have lots of September/Fall Menu #1 goodies available, along with some of your KCC staples.

Grab a Maple Oatmeal or Parmesan Garlic loaf while they’re here, stock up on bagels + English muffins, or treat yourself to some of the fall goodies like Caramel Apple Cinnamon Rolls, Pumpkin Snickerdoodle Scones, S’mores Cookies + Pecan Pie Muffins.

It’s Labor Day weekend, so it’s the perfect excuse to grab an extra loaf or box of pastries to share… or not. We won’t judge.

Pickup: Saturday, September 5th | 3–5 PM | KCC Bakery

Orders are open now while quantities last or until Wednesday at noon!
