Hello,
I wanted to take a moment to share something personal with all of you and explain why I've been so quiet lately.
On April 21, 2026, I was hospitalized after experiencing what appeared to be stroke like symptoms. It was one of the scariest experiences of my life. After many tests and evaluations, I was diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND).
For those who may not be familiar with FND, it is a neurological condition where the brain and nervous system have trouble properly sending and receiving signals. While the symptoms are very real, they are not caused by damage to the brain like a stroke. FND can affect movement, speech, memory, balance, sensation, coordination, and can cause weakness, tremors, fatigue, dizziness, and other symptoms that can vary from day to day.
Since my diagnosis, I have been learning to navigate this new reality. Some days are better than others, but it has been a challenging journey both physically and emotionally. Because of this, I've struggled to keep up with posting regularly and have unfortunately missed the Farmers and Artisans Market of Harrison on Saturdays that I love so much.
I sincerely apologize for my absence and for any inconvenience or disappointment it may have caused. Please know that it was never my intention to step away without explanation. My health has simply required me to slow down and focus on healing.
I am incredibly grateful for your support, patience, and kindness. This bakery is more than just a business to me it's a dream built with love, and each of you has been a part of that journey. Your encouragement means more than you'll ever know.
As I continue to learn how to manage FND, I hope to slowly become more active again and return to doing what I love: creating sweet treats for this amazing community.
Thank you for sticking with me through this season. Your prayers, understanding, and support are deeply appreciated.
With love and gratitude,
Meyers Scrumptious Treats ❤️
