I have loved rainbows since I was a little girl, and was super excited that my first cake after our move back to the states would be rainbow inside and out!!
Hello! I have been decorating cakes for more than 7 years now. I learned from working in a cake shop
Home-based cake business for custom decorated cakes and cupcakes at Yokota AB
Operating as usual
I have loved rainbows since I was a little girl, and was super excited that my first cake after our move back to the states would be rainbow inside and out!!
Snow Bird Bakery updated their website address.
To my friends, family, and loyal customers,
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for supporting me and my business over these last three years at Yokota. I am honored to have baked cakes for your birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions. I’ve learned so much from running my own business and I am grateful for those of you who put up with my clumsy beginnings. I also want to apologize to those of you who have had to wait a long time for a response to your messages.
It took me several months to come to this decision, but I will not be taking custom cake orders anymore. It was a difficult decision to make. I love decorating cakes. I love being creative and making something from nothing. I love working with customers and their thoughtfulness that goes into the designs for their loved ones. And I especially love seeing excited faces when they see their finished cake for the first time.
Despite everything I love about making cakes, there have been many challenges. My kids have eaten dinner on a fold up princess table more times than I can count, while my cake-in-progress and tools take up our whole dining room table. Date nights with my husband became late-night cake marathons in order to meet deadlines. As much as I love making cakes, I love being there for my family more.
I will always appreciate your business and that you trusted me to create something special for your celebrations. Thank you, Yokota!
Love, love, love this rainbow unicorn cake I did right before my break! I've already started new cakes and there will be more pictures to come!
Hello everyone! I had a really nice, much needed vacation this summer. Thank you all for your patience! I am back at the computer and fixing to go through my emails and messages.
During my break, I had given some thought as to how I might streamline the ordering process. I have created a separate website with a custom order form. From now on, I will be directing customers to the order form for quotes and setting up their orders.
My hope is that it will be a good place to start, saving time for both the customer and myself, and keeping all of the important details organized in one place. And I will still be available for your questions and concerns on Messenger or through email!
A couple more changes to my ordering process....
***I will only be taking orders one month in advance***
***I will only be taking 2 orders per week***
For now, I'm needing to scale back the number of orders I typically take, because I have added extra responsibilities to my schedule. I will post how many spots I have open each month and update it as soon as they are filled. Thanks again, and I hope to hear from you soon!

Hello Yokota!
First, I want to thank everyone who has ordered from me, especially those of you who have had to put up with my sometimes slow responses due to my heavy workload. I've been struggling to keep up with the demand for cakes here, often creating 4-5 cakes/week. That is a large workload for one person to balance with family, chores, American and Japanese school events/needs, and my new role as the Mendel PTO secretary.
Because of this, I am taking break for the summer. I will not be taking any new orders for the months of June, July, and August. I will be completing any orders that have been previously booked during these months however. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to message me! I will still be around! Thanks again!
Talia

Depending on my schedule, sometimes I work up until the last minute. I try to get a nice photo with my camera, on a clutter-free background with each cake that I create. But for those times when I'm approaching a deadline, a quick phone picture in the cake box has to do!
Beemo from Adventure Time! He's. Just. So. Cute. 😍
Moana-themed cake for Khloe! Birthday cakes that come with toys on top are extra fun for little ones 😊
A dinosaur cake for Declan! That tiny T-rex hand busting out the side cracks me up 😂
Vrooom Vrooom!!
A carousel-themed cake for a special little girl turning one! She had a matching smash cake in the same light pink and mint green colors as her main cake. The metallic gold really makes the embellishments shine 😍

Beatrix Potter illustrations make for the perfect baby shower cake, don't they?
I love everything about this cake!! The color scheme, the design, sigh! And the OCD in me loves this new technique I learned to get horizontal stripes perfectly straight 😂
Look at those tiny kettlebells! Love how this turned out 😁
Hello Yokota!
I would like to address the issue of contacting me. I do admit that I have struggled with timely responses in the past, and I apologize for that. Running a business alone, being a mom to two sweet, yet mischievous girls, maintaining a household, and finding time to spend with family and friends, while exploring this beautiful country are all quite a lot to handle.
My cake business on its own, has me answering messages, designing and/or sending ideas to customers, answering questions, taking orders, collecting payments, purchasing ingredients (both locally and abroad), baking, mixing icing, making custom fondant and gumpaste decorations, layering, crumbcoating, icing, stacking, decorating, and boxing cakes. I also photograph, edit (crop and fix the lighting, sometimes add fonts), and post photos on Facebook. A lot of time and effort goes into my business and I absolutely love it!
In an effort to serve you better, I will be available to contact from 9:30 am-12:30 pm, Monday-Thursday. The rest of my day will be spent focusing on work that doesn't involve my computer :) I have been closed on weekends since the beginning of this year (unless I had a large number of orders to complete). I will continue being closed on weekends to spend time with my family.
All weekend orders will be ready for pick up on Fridays. Because the majority of my cakes are due Friday, I will not be answering messages at all on Fridays, except for those customers picking up that day. If you message me on a weekend, I will reply on the following Monday. I want to thank all of my past customers from the bottom of my heart for their understanding and for allowing me to do what I love to do.

Can't get enough of this blue and white anniversary cake!
I have a soft spot for this baby shower cake for two reasons. One, because like so many of us who grew up reading the story, The Giving Tree, it was a favorite. And two, because the awesome parents picked an uncommon, super cool name for their daughter
Unicorns and rainbows for Chandler
Moana-inspired smash cake! This cake was a part of such an adorable photoshoot in June by Ginamarie photography. If you haven't seen it, head over to her page and check it out!
Working with fondant is both fun and challenging! I love how this shoe cake turned out 😊
Hello Kitty cake for a sweet 2 year old!
