Happy Saturday to you!

I thought it would be fun to share one of my cookie planning sheets! Once I finally decide which cutters to use I draw up the shapes and choose colors. I usually go off script later but this organizes my thoughts.

I’m still learning how to make more and more cake recipes from scratch graduating away from boxed mix. These German Chocolate cupcakes were a hit with the birthday girl who raved over their authentic taste. Praise God lol because they were little stinkers to make! I added just a touch of chocolate buttercream because the real star of the show is the coconut pecan frosting. ❤️

Did you know German Chocolate cake is actually named after creator Sam German? It was originally known as German’s Chocolate but eventually shortened to German Chocolate. This cake is special because it relies on actual melted chocolate instead of cocoa powder. Sam created the sweet baking chocolate for the Baker's chocolate company in Boston that is used to make this cake.

I had fun with this quick birthday set a customer ordered recently for their coworker. The friend is a fan of sour peach rings and the design is an homage to those. Cookies are approx 4in tall.

Have you seen my eyeball factory? I like to premake eyes and noses so that they will look perfect on cookies.

Making decorations from leftover icing saves time and money. Print out icing templates from the internet, cover with parchment paper, and pipe away. Let dry completely and store in a jar.
