PM to order or find my goodies at Flora Bodega!
10% of all sales go to the Regional Food Bank. There's something special about a loaf of fresh bread, hot out of the oven. I offer home-baked bread on Tuesdays and Fridays, ready for pickup as early as 7:30am. Message or post the day before to order your rustic loaf of wheat or white bread...but be sure you can pick it up on baking day, because this

bread has no preservatives and won't stay fresh for long! Please specify if you want your loaf pre-sliced. Rustic White (vegan): $4
Rustic Wheat (vegan): $5
Hearty Wheat/Oat (vegan): $6

Corn, Rosemary & Cheese Sourdough!
Today's mystery loaf is packed with flavor: sweet, buttery corn...fresh, punchy rosemary from a friend's garden...rich, creamy cheddar jack cheese. All of the elements meld in perfect harmony, no attention hogs here. The result is a very more-ish slice--if you can resist just munching it plain, you could top it with absolutely anything.

And now, back to your regularly scheduled program. (Does anybody even remember that phrase from pre-streaming TV days?)

Lots of fresh loaves just about ready to drop at Flora Bodega and I'm open for this week's orders! Want a cheddar garlic loaf or maybe a cinnamon raisin? Or perhaps you're craving some cinnamon rolls or a squishy sourdough brioche. Whatever it is, if it's on my regular menu, you can ask for it. Send me your bread wishes before 3pm Monday and pick them up Tuesday, or plan ahead for Friday's bake.

Usually I'm just the bread lady. This week, I was the bread lady AND the pre-K Bible story lady. We (alllllll the big and little people plus my cuddly lemur stuffie, Sebastian), had a wonderful time at Britton Christian Church's Rainforest Falls VBS. We learned about nature and the nature of God. There were songs and games and crafts and experiments and even some pie-in-the-face (not mine!), laughter and hugs and hot dogs and sno-cones. I'm tired out, but I wouldn't trade it.❤

So I didn't do much baking this week...but I did manage to make a little pile of loaves which I'm just about to drop off at Flora Bodega for your weekend toasties.

Next week, back to normal! Whatever that is.

Roasted Corn & Sweet Pepper Sourdough w/Cream Cheese!
Today's mystery bread is one of the very few things I'm baking this crazy week, but it's a good one. Sweet, smoky, creamy, full of flavor. My husband asked what my inspiration was, and I said, "I had some roasted peppers and roasted corn and thought, 'ooh, that'd be tasty in bread...with maybe some bits of cream cheese!'"
Sometimes inspiration is as simple as that. Experiment, try flavor combinations, come up with something unexpected.

What are some unexpected pairings you love?

I thought I was just gonna pick a bowlful of mustard greens for this African recipe I want to make for dinner, but the mustard greens had other plans. I never have managed to grow lots of EVERYTHING I plant, but usually one vegetable shines.

Apparently it's the year of the greens. Anybody want to come pick some for your own table?

Ootini has the right idea on this slow and rainy Saturday. Find a cozy spot and rest a little, friends.

If anybody needs a spontaneous loaf to facilitate relaxing, I've got a couple garlic herb sourdoughs left from last night's bread table.

Come get your limited edition Apple Butter Sourdough Brioche!

Paseo First Friday is looking beautiful (not too hot, nice breeze) and I'm here at the corner of 30th & Paseo with these gorgeous squishy loaves plus all your regular favorites...although the cinnamon rolls and jalapeño cheddars are already almost gone.

Two different loaves with small, round-ish black things. People tend to have very strong feelings about both.😅

One of these flavors is a Flora regular and will be headed there with the rest as soon as I get everything sliced--the other is a top choice at every market EXCEPT Flora Bodega!

Find both on my bread table at
My bread and I will be at the corner of 30th & Paseo from 5-9pm or until I run out.

So soft, so sweet. These Apple Butter Sourdough Brioche loaves are swirled with homemade apple butter (from local apples!) and a brown sugar cinnamon sprinkle, baked until beautifully golden, ready to take home tomorrow from my Paseo bread table.
