August 28th will be our Last Market and our last day as Matty Jays Breads.
One thing everyone knows is that nothing lasts forever. The hot weather, the cold weather, and in this case Matty Jay's Breads. Now before yall go, "OH NO! THATS SO SAD!" Let me share with you what is happening.
Matt, my amazing husband, has many talents. You know this. Five years ago, he started baking, and it has been amazing!
Four years ago, Matt started taking Kenpo Jitzu, a martial art. One year ago, he got his black belt. January of this year, he started teaching Martial Arts on Friday nights.
He now has the opportunity to offer classes on a different night!
Most of you know, I'm a stay at home mom, and I homeschool our tinny humans. It's a very important job that I get to do, and I take it pretty seriously. This year holds huge opportunities for our kids' education, and I can not wait to see them grow!
Both of these things, however, take place during baking time.
So we had to step back and look. What do we NEED to spend our time on? Where are our thoughts, hearts, and passions? We realized they no longer are in baking and Matty Jay's Breads. They have shifted from providing food for the body to providing food for the heart and mind. To teaching. For me, it's teaching my children. For Matt, it's teaching his students.
So it is with confidence and a little bit of sorrow that we say goodbye to Matty Jay's breads.
Thank you all for an amazing 5 years!
