Do you consider cake as part of the "bread/grain" food group or the "Fats, Oils, and sweets" group. As I always say, to the annoyance of my amazing husband, "It's all about perspective". Here are a few cakes I've made for my children and husband over the years. Some tasted better than others, one was completely disgusting (as my son likes to remind me), but they all looked pretty good for an amateur home baker (IMO). What was your favorite childhood cake you had or made for someone? (pictures are a plus)

It's vacation week, what is the best food you've had on vacation and where were you? So far on this trip, the best thing we've had is popcorn. At the Corn Palace 😐, but I really think it was the butter that was so good. 😂

French Onion Soup Bread is off and running, my house smells AMAZING. How come they haven't invested smell-a-vision yet? I'm excited to share a few loafs with my neighbors tomorrow at our annual summer block party.

I'll be making french onion loafs next weekend (Baking Aug 15). $9 a loaf, make with caramelized onions and beef broth. The aroma and flavor is absolutely amazing. I have not mastered baking in the summer. All winter long I have perfect loafs, but the summer heat and humidityare a whole different world. Today, I won the battle and had 2 beautiful, perfectly risen loafs. I'm so foolishly proud of myself.
