*UPDATE*
I wanted to let everyone know that after my April 21st shipment, I will no longer be shipping.
These past 2 months have been extremely difficult keeping the business open due to the new policy implemented at Disney. I lost 95% of my business not being able to deliver to Disney anymore. I understand and respect their decision. Unfortunately it did impact my business greatly. I am still processing refunds, rescheduling orders, and trying my hardest to get everyone their order.
Please know that I do love shipping to you all, but I am now working 80+ hours a week, 7 days a week which is just not sustainable long term. I have 2 young children with very busy schedules and part of the reason I started Pastry Power was to be able to spend more time with them. When I was working as an registered nurse, 13+ hours a day, I never saw them, and now, I am back to that point.
Baking and packaging 30+ gluten free orders a week, takes 2-3 times as long as delivering did. Behind the scenes I am shopping, baking, individually packaging each item, labeling, assembling shipping boxes, cutting insulated liners, bubble wrapping, printing pastry care cards etc. Each box has so much love and care put into it from the moment each item is baked, to when it is packaged and sent off for shipping. I am grateful to have been able to do this, as it allowed me to keep my doors open and process the majority of my refunds.
🌟I will still have local pickup available. If you know anyone traveling to Orlando, please consider sharing my bakery with them. Every share brings in a new customer!
I do not want to quit baking, as it is my love and passion. I have been baking since I can remember, and when I found out I had celiac, I knew this what I wanted to do.
This change has greatly affected my business, and I hope you all understand the decision I had to make. I appreciate everyone's support through this journey.
Thank you,
Katie
