Getting my Cottage Food License was one of the best decisions I made for my baking business.
Not only does it legally allow me to sell baked goods from my home kitchen, but it has opened doors I never imagined possible.
With my license, I'm able to:
✨ Participate in local farmers markets, fairs, and community events
✨ Operate my business legally from home
✨ Build trust and credibility with my customers
✨ Protect myself and my business
✨ Create an income doing something I genuinely love
But the greatest blessing has been the ability to have a little creative outlet just for myself.
This business allows me to homeschool my children, walk alongside them in their childhood every day, and be present for the moments that matter most. Instead of building someone else's dream, I've been able to build something meaningful for our family and maybe influencing the two little shadows who mirror me in the bakery.
What started with a simple loaf of bread and a determinations has become a way to serve my community, spark joy, and create a life that aligns with what matters most to me.
If you have a heart for baking, want more flexibility in your work hours, or have a dream that's been sitting on the back burner, consider this your encouragement to take the first step. ❤️
Click the link in my caption to find your state's Cottage Food Law regulations and start dreaming up those recipes. The loaf, cookie, cake, or pastry that's second nature to you could become something much bigger than you ever imagined.
Your kitchen might just be the beginning. ✨🥖
