For years Susan baked her cookies and brought them as a gift of love to family and friends. Even on the most elaborate sweet tables, her cookies were the first to be eaten. She laughed when people would tell her they were the best cookies they had ever tasted. Hundreds of names were tossed around until one day at a family gathering somebody asked, "Who made the cookies?" "Susan!" family members re

plied. "Crazy Susan?" cousin Peter ask. And with that, Crazy Susan's Cookie Company was born. With the loving support of her family and friends, Crazy Susan opened her first retail location in Ocean City, New Jersey in July 2006. Susan has dedicated this store to her cousin, Joy, who inspired Susan to follow her dream. Today, Joy's picture still hangs in the store for all Susan's customers to see, as they sample one of the more than twenty cookie varieties available. Susan's famous chocolate chip cookies have expanded into treats for the entire family from decorated cookie cakes, cookie pops and brownies to peanut butter or heath bar crunch and of course the Crazy Turtles--now the Snack of the Day on the Rachael Ray Show! Part cookie, part candy, ALL delicious! So when you are visiting the Jersey shore, come to Crazy Susan's in Ocean City at 1345 West Avenue or at 980 Boardwalk. Back in the Fall, I had decided that after 2026, I would be stepping away from the cookie store in order to spend more time, especially weekends, with my family and friends. I happened to mention this to a friend and after that discussion, the chips started to fall in a different direction.

Through my friend, I was introduced to Tricia Guittar. And I would like to introduce her to you. Tricia was a teacher for 22 years but like me, wanted to follow her dream and passion for baking. She enrolled in the Academy of Culinary Arts in 2024. During her time there, she won the Vincent Definis Award which was a baking competition for which she won a substantial amount toward her tuition. She was also a part of the Culinary Student Association and served as treasurer in her first year. She travelled with the Academy to Italy for 17 days. She graduated Valedictorian and was awarded the Nathan Schwartz award, who was an exceptional scholar and member of the first graduating class in 1983.

The heartache of stepping away from the cookie store, something I had worked on for 20 years, was a very, very difficult decision for me. So now, instead of walking away, I am taking a step back. I will be working with Tricia over the summer so that she can step in when I cannot. She brings professionalism and lots of ideas and concepts and we will be working to create new cookies and treats.

So Crazy Susan's Cookies lives on and please welcome Tricia onboard as she starts a new endeavor in her life.

For now, we will be open on Friday and Saturday (possibly Sunday) until the end of June when we will extend our hours.

A million thanks to my loyal customers, many of whom became friends, who have supported me over the last 20 years. Without you there would have been no Crazy Susan's Cookies, just Crazy Susan.

Stop in we are open Thursday - Sunday Memorial Day weekend. We are fully stocked with Fresh Hot Cookies & Brownies. Susan has been baking since 4:30 am so Ocean City vacationers can have her famous cookies.

We are very busy at the block party today and in the store. We open for the summer Memorial Day weekend There may have been some confusion in a prior post as to whether we would be opening this summer. We are here and well and look forward to seeing you.
