I didn’t start Sugar + Sabr just to sell cookies.

I started this for the women who are starting over.
The women coming home.
The women trying to rebuild their lives quietly, with dignity, and with sabr.

Because when I came home, I still had to figure everything out alone.
How to work. How to rebuild. How to stay on the right path. How to become a better woman. I don’t want the next generation of women coming home to feel like they have to do it alone.

In Islam, we are taught that Allah is Most Merciful and that no matter how far we’ve gone, we can always return. We are taught that honest work, when done with the right intention, can be worship. Feeding people. Helping people. Giving people another chance. All of that matters.

Sugar + Sabr is a cottage bakery, but the mission is reentry.
Everything is made from scratch, by hand, with intention — because this business is being built the same way we rebuild our lives… slowly, carefully, and with sabr.

Right now it’s cookies.
In the future, it’s job training, community, and a safe space for women to rebuild with dignity, faith, and support.

I had to break one open because I needed to make sure they were right…

These Lemon Sugar Cookies are hella lemony, but not too lemony. You can actually taste the sugar, the lemon, and the butter.
Soft on the inside, crunchy on the outside… just how a lemon sugar cookie is supposed to be.

I don’t sell anything I wouldn’t eat myself, and these? Yeah… these are staying on the menu.

Come pick these bad boys up Saturday.
