Sugarsweet Bakery will be open today for order pick ups and we will also be selling Valentine's Day Cupcakes from 10am - 1pm or until we sell out. The doors will be open and the display case will be stocked. If you need last minute Valentine's Day cupcakes come on by.

I didn't get a chance to say this at the start of the year like I wanted to but Thank You for supporting me and my little bakery. The likes, comments, compliments and love are felt deeply and I didn't want to go another month without acknowledging this to everyone who passes thru my page and takes the time to show support. And of course thank you to those who have stopped by and bought cupcakes cookies and ordered cakes from us. Without getting too deep I am still grieving for my mother so sometimes when you don't see me here (or on FB) posting on the regular I'm going thru it as well as being busy running Sugarsweet. Grateful and excited to be featured in volume 3 the latest issue of Magazine released just this week! This is a that "celebrates Black culture through cooking and gathering" and features the best and brightest in the black world. Such an honor to be included alongside other amazing like Therese Nelson , .cakes , and many others. Thank you Amber Mayfield. Chefs are interviewed, illustrated (thank you .love34) and offer and playlists. Very cool. Check it out!

Day 3: Strawberry 🍓
Secret: A few days before opening I decided that real strawberries would go on top as a garnish but it ended up messy and expensive. At the last minute a facsimile of a strawberry was added instead of the real thing. The trend was repeated with the rest of our cupcakes. What do you think of our faux fondant toppers?

We had the pleasure and honor of making two celebrating the 90th anniversary of the legendary Paramount theater in Oakland last week. A big thank you to Michelle at for thinking of Sugarsweet and making this happen. These were two full with edible photos encased in edible gold frames.

We are a small but very busy custom cake shop that is looking to hire a reliable and talented person passionate about cake design to join our team--full or part-time. This position offers a lot of freedom, flexibility and responsibility. We are looking for someone who is fluid and flexible in their design ability. You will be required to decorate and design cakes of various styles and for any and every occasion (no baking necessary). You must be able to work with fondant & buttercream with equal skill. A strong custom cake designing background and real industry experience is a must. We are not looking for trainees.

Candidate must be within commuting distance of the bakery in Oakland. Fluent in English both verbally and written. Part-time position needs to work at least 3 days during the week 8am-4pm. Immediate availability for hire. Photos of your work are required before meeting up. We are a small, friendly and supportive group of bakers and culinary professionals trying to make our bakery the best in the bay.

Spent the better part of yesterday morning a for and bank. Had fun! I just ran my mouth alot talking about all kinds of stuff. Not sure when or where this will be shown. We'll see!
