I need to take a minute to give a HUGE shoutout to the man behind so much of Hey Sugar. My husband!
When I said I had this dream of opening my own bakery, Aaron never once made me feel like it was too big. Instead, he rolled up his sleeves and helped me make it happen.
He has worked long days, late nights, and countless hours alongside my father-in-law building, fixing, hauling, installing, figuring things out, and turning an empty space into the bakery I had pictured in my head for so long.
There are so many little details inside Hey Sugar that people will never realize were built by their hands. There were plenty of days when Aaron would finish everything he already had to do and then come straight to the bakery to keep working on my dream. It may have “ruined his entire summer” but he did it anyway.
The truth is, Hey Sugar wouldn’t be what it is without him.
Thank you for believing in me when this was just an idea. Thank you for putting up with the chaos, the stress, the endless decisions, the “can you just do one more thing?” Or “I don’t like it, we need to figure something else out” and all the hours this dream has taken from our normal life.
And thank you to my father-in-law for being right there beside him, helping us build this place from the ground up. I will never be able to fully express how much it means to me to walk into Hey Sugar and know how much love, time, sweat, and family went into making it ours.
Aaron, thank you for making my dreams come true. I dreamed it… but you helped build it. Literally.
