Our baker, Macy, will be opening a bakery in Winfield! Please like her page, Frisco Street Bakeshop, and pass the word. She is the reason our cakes and cookies are so delicious, and her caramels are crazy good!

Made one last batch of shortbread (12 dozen). Three dozen are reserved, that leaves 9 dozen available tomorrow. Circles, with squiggly lines and sprinkles. If you’d like to reserve some, call the bakery 205-345-8610.

We have THREE fruitcakes left, so if you haven’t already ordered one, now is the time. If you have preordered for pickup later this week, yours has been put aside, so no worries.
We will have buttery and delicious Christmas Stollen tomorrow! A holiday tradition at Mary’s, the bread is braided to resemble the swaddling clothes of the infant Jesus. We made 34 loaves, and there are 33 left (this one got gobbled up for quality control purposes).
P.S. can’t make it to the bakery tomorrow? You can also order one online for pickup at the bakery later this week and we’ll save it for you.
We’ve been busy making pretty things.
We made an extra EXTRA large batch of
pumpkin bread, but this is the last batch before we close on the 31st. It freezes well. If you’d like some, please come in or call.
Mary is retiring!
It’s been a great 15+ years as the owner of Mary’s Cakes & Pastries. We’ve made a lot of friends, a lot of memories, and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it, though some more than others. The support we’ve had from the community through our adventures with the University, the tornado, the new mixer, Art Night, cookie throwdowns, and countless others, has meant the world to me. I am so grateful for being a part of your lives, and you being part of mine.
My husband, Mike, and I are moving to New Mexico. I may continue to bake commercially, but on a much smaller scale. Once we get settled, I will reach out with more information about our endeavors, including how to find us online.
Meanwhile, we will be open with our holiday menu for the next three weeks. The bakery will close for good on Friday, December 31. We hope to see you before we leave.

What’s in a Bama Dozen Tin? EIGHTEEN sweets-one for each of Bama’s National Championships. These have linzer tarts, dream bars, fudge, a rum ball, fruitcake cookies dipped in white chocolate, raspberry chocolate truffles, almond spritz cookies, a pecan praline, some holiday shortbread, and a glazed gingerbread. In a decorative tin with a bow! Fa la la la la la!!
Tomorrow is and we are featuring strawberry-balsamic. Strawberries from Snow's Bend Farm to make the mousse snd buttercream, vanilla cake drizzled with a balsamic reduction. Garnished with a French macaron and white chocolate curls. Call the bakery to reserve yours!
Did you know we make holiday cookie tins? They are perfect for teacher, client, and neighbor gifts.
Get your own pie! We also have a couple of fudge-pecan and sweet potato pecan pies. Same deal while they last. We’re open 10-5 today.
One of the benefits of owning a bakery is that you can decide the staff needs to eat the last pumpkin pie for breakfast. We still have several pecan pies, fudge pecan, and sweet potato pecan pies.

The fruitcakes come out of the oven and are immediately given their first bath of spiced rum and simple syrup. They will get a similar bath every other day for the next month before they are ready to wrap and sell. ❤️
