After a year of heartfelt baking and serving the Argyle/Northlake communities, we have made the difficult decision to transition from Vanellie’s Bakeshop to a new Mediterranean dining concept, Gyro & Grill, opening January 2025.
There is a sense of sadness in saying goodbye to the bakery however, we are also excited for this new chapter. Gyro & Grill will bring fresh, flavorful Mediterranean cuisine to the Argyle/Northlake area. We are very grateful for your kindness and support throughout this journey.
The last day of operation as Vanellie’s Bake Shop will be December 22.

Notice to Our Community
Transition from Bakery to Mediterranean Dining: A Heartfelt New Chapter

Argyle/Northlake, TX – After a year of heartfelt baking and serving the Argyle and Northlake communities, we have made the difficult decision to transition from our bakery to a new Mediterranean dining concept, Gyro & Grill, opening January 2025.
While we have cherished every moment of bringing baked goods to this incredible area, the financial challenges of the past year have led us to reflect on what is best for the community and for our family. Baking has brought us joy, and serving our loyal clients has been a privilege.
However, after much thought, we have decided to return to our roots in the restaurant industry, where we have found success and connection through concepts like Eggspress Cafe, Golden Egg, Egg House Cafe, and Luigi’s Italian Restaurant. That you all have kindly supported for many decades.

This was not an easy choice. There is a sense of sadness in saying goodbye to the bakery and we wish things had turned out differently. However, we are also hopeful and excited for this new chapter. Gyro & Grill will bring fresh, flavorful Mediterranean cuisine to the Argyle/Northlake area, providing a dining experience that celebrates community, culture, and great and healthy dishes. Plus, we will sell our homemade tzatziki sauce for you to purchase!
We are immensely grateful for your kindness and support throughout this journey. To honor our bakery customers, we will be baking one final round of holiday treats with pickups available on December 22, the last day of operation as Vanellie’s Bake Shop. It is our way of saying thank you and sharing one last piece of what we have loved doing this past year.
We hope you will join us on this next adventure. Gyro & Grill is designed with this community in mind—a place to gather, enjoy, and share. We cannot wait to welcome you when we open our doors in January 2025.
