Last weekend, my two biggest markets/festivals of the year overlapped for the first time ever. Of course, I’m insane, and had to make it work.
I truly couldn’t have done this without my husband Ryan Curtin who watched our feral 16 month old child for 4 days while I had my bake-a-thon and then had to drive all over the world.
This year the midnight market was on September 25 & 26. The Eliot Festival is always the last Saturday of September which was September 26 this year.
I baked for two whole days, totaling 283 items for two markets!! I’ve never baked that much in one go, or sold nearly that much just for two markets.
I drove to the white mountains from Maine which was about 2.5 hours. Set up for the midnight market. It started at 6 pm and went until midnight. When it ended, I then drove 2 hours home (insane) and arrived home again 230 in the morning. Slept until 530. Drove to Eliot (one hour from where I live), set up at 630 am, sold basically everything I brought, ran out of bags, and left two hours early. I had my husband meet me with more banana bread (lol) to then drive back 2.5 hours to the white mountains for another night of the midnight market.
It was actually insanely crazy. You all show up for me no matter where I am. I had the most successful weekend of being in business, and the driving and baking was just all so worth it. This is my favorite weekend of the year. My Super Bowl, if you will. I live for this.
In two days, I did 3 markets, and sold 240 items out of 283. I blame the weather honestly, but it wasn’t really that bad. It missed us in the white mountains, and we just got a lot of wind in Eliot. Overall, I truly can’t complain. I love you all so much. Just, thank you. Thank you so so so much ❤️🍌
