I chose peach this week because Iām trying to hold on to summer just a little longer, and because it triggers a good memory for me
Several years before my grandparents died I spent a week with them, and my Grammy gave me some lessons in the kitchen. Primarily her assignment was to teach me to bake pies because I was terrible. She said, āHoney, what are you doing wrong? Itās so easy?ā
Together we made a beautiful and tasty pie using fruit from my sisters backyard, and my Grampy enjoyed every bit.
To this day, Iāve not made one with success on my own. So when I took this from the oven over the weekend, I smiled and thought, āThis is for you Grammy. I may not make them quite like you but Ive finally figured out my own way. And I bet Grampy would still approve!ā
