Who would have known what started as a high school part-time job would turn into my lifelong passion and career. My start in the business was working for one of the pioneers of the New York bagel industry, Arthur Goldberg, at the Bagel Fair in Paramus, N.J. In 1989, using recipes that date to Brooklyn, NY circa 1946, I opened my own family business, Monroe Bagels & Deli in New York state. We now p

Closing our books for Catering and Platter orders for this upcoming weekend of June 13. Thank you to all who have ordered. We only take as many as we feel we can execute perfectly. Should you need our catering services this Summer please email me at [email protected] as soon as possible please. There are a few other upcoming weekends that are close to being sold out as well. Great to be busy but we do hate saying ‘No’.

I speak a lot about inclusion. To me that simply means that we are all invited into the room. Whether that be a high school classroom, a movie theater or a bagel shop.
We would like to warmly thank Boden Frechette for making Big Dave’s a more inclusive business. Boden has gifted us our store menu in Braille so that we can now better serve folks with visual impairments. Greatly appreciated Young Man 🙏
On a similar note is there a better Buddy pair than Cam & Marlie ? Marlie has served as the Best Buddies Club president at Kennett High School and they were just named chapter of the year in New Hampshire. Cam is just a bright light and the happiest person I know. These 2 had a lot to do with the success of this program. Their photo in our local paper says it all.

The Kindness Train of Inclusion took Sue & I on a wonderful visit to Kingswood Regional High School today. I received an invitation to their final Best Buddies gathering of this school year. Incredible group of students who all see the value in each other. Warm thanks for thinking of me and I’ll be back in the fall 😄

We will celebrate by visiting the BB Club at Kingswood High School today. I received a warm invitation to visit and Sue will join me. Naturally we bring snacks.
