On today's episode of DONT EAT THAT! We are going to talk about elderberries!

Elderberries have grown in popularity among us foragers and homesteaders but there are a couple of dangerous look alikes and here is one!

Aralia Spinosa, Devils Walking Stick, this dangerous elderberry look alike is mildly toxic so you wont ya know keel over but you can become very very ill

A true elderberry will not have any thorns it will have a barky stem

Another dangerous look alike NOT PICTURED is the Waterhemlock the stem of that plant will be green and have a purple tone to it

So if you think you have found elderberries and see thorns or a greenish purple stem think again! And look again these plants look very similar the flowers even look the same while in bloom!!!
