Iron Arena Powerlifting & Performance

Iron Arena Powerlifting & Performance IA is Hudson County's only training facility equipped to surpass the needs of competitive powerlifte Iron Area Powerlifting & Performance (IA) opened in 2012.

It originally occupied a 3,000 sq. ft. space on the fifth floor of a century-old converted Wonder Bread Factory in Hoboken, New Jersey. A redevelopment plan forced us to relocate in October of 2016. Iron Arena is now located just three miles north of its former location in North Bergen, NJ. We're bigger and better than ever as we now occupy a 5,500 sq. ft space (located directly above New Jersey B

eer Co.) accessible via all major highways and public transportation. IA is Hudson County's only training facility equipped to surpass the needs of competitive powerlifters and performance athletes. Don't let the word "powerlifting" in our name dissuade you. Your personal goals may include diminished body fat, increased muscle mass and definition, enhanced strength, endurance, or an overall aim to maximize general fitness. Regardless of your pursuit -- the squat, bench press, and deadlift are a big part of the fitness equation. Therefore, we cater to anyone from novice to elite, with a sincere commitment to learning proper execution in the barbell lifts. Iron Arena recognizes there is no one-size-fits-all program or methodology. For that reason, we employ a variety of training methods backed by science and evidence-based practice/application from years of personal experience. Your goals matter to us and we'll help implement an optimal training strategy to help you achieve results as efficiently as possible. Iron Arena is an officially recognized USAPL Friendly Gym by USA Powerlifting and is owned and operated by Jason Manenkoff.

A quick recap from my powerlifting meet:
The South Jersey Slam.
It’s been a long time coming since I hadn’t stepped on the platform in 3 years. I ended the day with a 1515.6 lb total, going 9/9, with PRs across the board.
This is just a stepping stone for what’s next, and I can’t wait to get back on the platform again.

Numbers on the board:
Open Div/220lbs
Squat: 551.1 lbs
Bench: 402.3 lbs
Deadlift: 562.1 lbs

Shoutout:
Huge thank you to and for helping me through prep and making the right calls on meet day. Training at the facility and having that guidance made a huge difference in executing the game plan. I couldn’t have hit these milestones without it.

Also shoutout to and for running an amazing meet and creating an incredible atmosphere. Can’t wait for the next one.

I competed at the 2026 Powerlifting America Open National Championships last month and totaled 310 kg at 46.1 kg bodyweight and went 8/9. Though I didn’t PR my total or make the podium this year, I PR’d squat and bench by +2.5kg each. I was so close with my last deadlift attempt, but lost grip at the last second rip 🤷🏽‍♀️ (see 5th picture lol). I’m grateful for my coach and partner in crime aka ❤️‍🔥. Shoutout out to as always for helping us strategize throughout prep. Shoutout to for having awesome comp-grade equipment and an overall great training environment. I will become even stronger from here!

Squat = 100kg (+2.5kg PR!), Bench = 70kg (+2.5kg PR!), Deadlift = 140kg

If you told me 14 years ago when I first opened Iron Arena that I’d be buying this machine one day, I would’ve looked at you with a very confused look on my face.

Anyway… traps are back. Summer 2026.

Enjoy.
