First and foremost, I'd like to say thank you! Thank you for all of your continued loyalty and support of my cottage bakery over the last year and a half. I have been blessed to have baked loaves for so many homes and share gut healthy, traditional, quality organic sourdough with you.
I am deeply saddened to have to make this announcement, however I will no longer be baking sourdough or any other wheat based products.
I have recently been given a diagnosis, that at first seemed daunting, but now I'm seeing it for what it is, the beginning of true healing! I am very allergic to wheat/gluten, due to many other allergy triggers I was exposed to we didn't notice the severity until this week. I have been going through detox for two weeks now and despite wearing protective gear, I had yet another anaphylactic episode while preparing an order.
I am stepping back, and focusing on my health, my family, and our homestead. As well as adjusting to the learning curve of wheat free baking.
I do not believe this is goodbye forever, and I hope to one day be back, baking for my community. It will just look different. This page will now be focused on our homestead, as well as wheat free recipes -as I find ones that are truly good and good for you!
Again, I thank you for all of your support, I pray that continues as I transition to the new realm of baking. But I do know, and fully understand, it may not be for everyone. - trust me, it has definitely been a whirlwind of emotions for me. I am genuinely excited to see where this journey leads and I hope you are too!
