5 על דלית סגל, נגנית קרן בפילהרמונית הישראלית

1. התקבלתי לתזמורת בגיל 22 ומיד לאחר מכן נשלחתי על ידי מאסטרו מהטה
לשנת לימודים בג'וליארד (עם מלגה מקרן שרת), כדי לקבל השראה מהצליל
הניו יורקי.
2. שני נגני הקרן שהשפיעו על הנגינה שלי: הרמן באומן שהוא סולן נפלא בקרן,
מנגן בשירתיות וקלילות שניסיתי לסגל לעצמי, וג'יימס קוקס, הנגן הראשי של
הפלהרמונית, שהצליל התזמורתי שלו עוטף וחודר את האולם באופן שמייפה
כל סימפוניה.
3. משהו שלא יודעים עלי – בעלי (פרופסור גדי סגל) ניהל את מחלקת הקורונה
הראשונה שנפתחה בישראל, בפברואר 2020 שקלט אליו את החולים
הראשונים במדינה (בבית החולים "שיבא").
4. הדבר הכי מוזר שקרה לי בקונצרט: לפני הסולו הכי חשוב בסימפוניית העולם
החדש של דבוז'אק, התפרק לי כל החלק של המנענעים מהקרן... אני לא
בטוחה איך נשמע הסולו הזה, אבל אולי כמעט כל הצלילים היו שם 😀
5. בשעות הפנויות שלי אני אוהבת לצפות כדים וקירות בפסיפס.

רגע מרגש בתזמורת:
אחד הרגעים המרגשים ביותר עבורי היה להגיע עם זובין מהטה והתזמורת למומבאי, עיר הולדתו של המאסטרו, לביקור מרגש ומפתיע בעוצמתו.

הדבר שאני מחכה לו בעונה החדשה:
פשוט להופיע מול קהל, לנגן לאנשים באולם ולא מול מצלמה.

5 facts about Dalit Segal, hornist in the Israel Philharmonic

1. I was accepted into the orchestra at age 22, and was immediately sent by Maestro Mehta to study at Juilliard for a year (with a scholarship from the Sharett Foundation), to be inspired by the New York sound.

2. The two hornists who have influenced my playing: Herman Baumann, a wonderful soloist, who played lyrically and lightly, a style that I tried to adopt; and James Madison Cox, the Israel Philharmonic Principal Horn, whose orchestral sound envelops and permeates the hall in a way that beautifies every symphony.

3 .Something that people don’t know about me – my husband (Professor Gadi Segal) ran the first corona ward in Israel in February 2020, which admitted the first patients in the country (at Tel Hashomer Hospital).

4. The strangest thing that happened to me during a concert: before the most important solo in Dvorak’s New World Symphony, all the levers fell off my horn… I’m not sure what this solo sounded like, but perhaps most of the notes were there!

5. In my free time, I enjoy covering vessels and walls with mosaic.

An exciting moment in the orchestra:
One of the most exciting moments for me was to travel with Zubin Mehta and the orchestra to Mumbai, the Maestro’s birthplace, for a moving and surprisingly powerful visit.

What I’m looking forward to this season:
Simply to perform before an audience, to play for people in the hall and not in front of a camera.
