I realized yesterday I never posted the prettiest (and most special) cake I've ever made: my parents' anniversary cake!

Mom and Dad celebrated 45 years this past October. Their cake was chocolate with a chocolate Swiss meringue in between, and decorated with vanilla buttercream. Mom told me what colors they used for their wedding, so I incorporated those in the flowers. And it wouldn't be a celebration without some gold.

I loved the way this simple, elegant cake turned out. Plus, it was delicious.

Marie Antoinette never said, "Let them eat cake." But if she did, this is the cake she was referring to.

Had some fun on this vintage cake design for a lucky birthday girl. Cake is chocolate with raspberry filling and covered in incredibly delicious vanilla buttercream. Then I very carefully hand-placed 350 edible pearls. My hands hurt.

Okay making this adorable little dog cake was so much fun.

A repeat customer asked for a cake to look like their beloved dog, and I couldn't say no. I really enjoy this kind of cake decorating.

The cake is vanilla with raspberry jam, and the muzzle is made of stacked sugar cookies. The ears are also made of sugar cookies.

Today is my in-laws' 50th wedding anniversary (💜), and they are having a big party to celebrate. I was really excited to make the cookies for the guests, even if my hands are permanently disfigured from baking and decorating 160 cookies.

I always sketch out my designs before I start cookies. This week, I'm making some gifts for the wonderful teachers and daycare providers who care for and teach my kids while my husband and I work.
