We spent half of the day in Kyoto Nijo-jo Castle. It was built by Takugawa Leyasu in 1603, the first shogun of edo period. This place is massive. You can tell some structures were built later on as a residential expansion. We sat outside of the tea hose for a break and enjoyed the sound of river and scenery.
We took the Shinkansen or bullet train to Tokyo later that afternoon! Cant ride the bullet train without bullet train special bento. Joel took picture of Mount Fuji when the train flew by while I was dead asleep.
Spent the evening at a local udon noodle restaurant. They made their own noodles on site and the chew and taste of the noodles show it all. After that we visited 7-11 and tried out their blend on the spot fruit smoothie machine. It was glorious, why cant we have that in the US?
Next day in the big city we went to teamLab Borderless. This is where hundreds and hundreds of light projection came together and formed different design and even 3D objects. This place has no map or route because some designs will follow you from room to room and it is constantly changing. People are encouraged to go back to rooms where you visited before. After a ton of sensory loading, we went into the tea house. The tea drink I ordered was not good, LOL. However, the light projected flower onto my tea cup is beautiful. It will blossom and spread unto the table after you take a sip.
Overall it was a great experience. Will finish talking about that day with my next post!
