Dough is being prepped to chill overnight prior to baking for Saturday’s Farmers Market in Iron Mountain from 8-12. Because of the Summer Roll Out event, our spot has been moved to the northwest end of the parking lot where we’ve been moved to during the past special event days. The weather looks great so we hope you’ll find your way to our spot on Saturday!

We’re excited to have another great weather day for our Iron Mountain Farmers market tomorrow, 8-12! We’re bringing more products in anticipation of a big crowd so no one will go without some of our homemade bakery, including the croissants. Carol’s experimented with different fillings( raspberry, Nutella, dark and milk chocolate - along with traditional almond.) Looking forward to a great start of our 25th year serving the Irin Mountain area!

We’ve been quite busy here getting ready for our second Iron Mountain Farmers market this Saturday, June 13, from 8-12. Weather looks promising and we’ll have a great variety of cookies, pies, scones, cinnamon buns, breads, pie pockets, and jams to choose from. Carol is working on perfecting the croissants, including to remember to dust them with confection sugar when baked ( forgot that last week.)
Looking forward to having another great market this weekend!

Really busy day getting ready for the IronMountain Farmers Market tomorrow. With just a little prompting, our crew did an amazing job remembering our routine and processes from last year. Mistakes were either eaten or given to the chickens! We’ll be offering our croissants with either almond or chocolate inside( but forgot the almonds on the top!)
We’re also looking for comments on our pie pockets as Carol wanted the challenge of making puff pastry from scratch. They are very buttery and flaky, but softer. We really want opinions on whether to continue this route or not. Please be sure to tell us your opinion!
Grateful for the rain today instead of tomorrow!

This will be a busy week getting ready for the opening day for the Iron Mountain Farmers Market this Saturday, June 6, from 8-12.
Spent the afternoon making jams: Raspberry, Cherry, Strawberry Rhubarb, and Triple Berry.
We’re still working on tweaking some new offerings, but will continue to have a variety of pie pockets, pies, and kolaches, and cookies.
So glad to have my crew returning for our 25th season!

Been have fun trying new items. My latest one is a 6” vanilla cheesecake, graham cracker crust, topped with lemon glaze, whipped cream and berries. Our grandson and his family helped with the taste testing and, along with Hal, declared it fabulous!
Thinking of offering these at the shop as pre orders for $22.
I sure enjoying trying new products!

We’re starting our 25th year - so blessed to be able to continue to enjoy this amazing orchard and bakery adventure! When we started, we had no idea what we were really doing except to have an active retirement.
Today, Carol is learning new recipes, making puff pastries, croissants, ciabatta, focaccia, kouign amann( traditional French name !)from scratch under daughter Johanna’s expertise.
We’ll be practicing these and hoping all will make it to the first farmers market June 6.
One thing we’ve learned is no year is like ever the same! We’ve had our ups and downs, freezes with no fruit, and bountiful seasons, but through it all our loyal customers supported us and now are our extended family.
We’re excited to start this 25th year!

We’re finally seeing some bloom here at the orchard now that we’ve had a few days of warm weather! Hal thinks we’ll have good fruit set this year, but we’re always optimistic!
