Sharon Marie Entz grew up on a central Kansas wheat farm, where she learned the joy of producing food from the field to the table. After graduating from Kansas State University with a degree in Milling Science & Management, she spent ten years working in the milling industry. She converted her garage into a small bakery so that she could produce her own field-to-table bread. Crust & Crumb Co.'s br

ead starts with a slow fermentation process that develops a complex flavor and a delicate crumb. The thick & crunchy crust is created by baking at a high temperature in a steamy oven. The bread sits directly on the oven hearth and during the baking process water is injected into the oven. Crust & Crumb Co bread is available for purchase at your local grocery store. There are four delicious kinds of bread; White, Wheat Sourdough, Baguettes and Ciabatta.

Let me tell you about the journey of the pews that sit on the South wall of our dining room. Amanda found them in the bell tower of First Mennonite Church and asked if we could purchase them. After we gained permission, we carried them down multiple flights of stairs, hauled them over in the bakery van and quickly carried them into the bakery. We belive that these pews are over 100 years old, generations of Newtonians have been sitting on these pews.

This rack is resting and rising in our walk-in cooler. It's completely full of Cinnamon Raisin Sourdough and Lithuanian Sourdough, which is beets, potatoes, scallions and dill. We will be open tomorrow from 8-11am.
