A little upgrade on the heat press… it might have been necessary after I fried the other one…. But either way, an upgrade to press out these T-shirts! It’s doesn’t hurt she is my favorite color either.

I won’t talk about all the various “months” year long, but this month is very important to this family.

This company was born after going through many fires in life and coming out on the other side. Typically I talk about the fire of NICU life and a special needs son. What I don’t talk about much is my husband: a medically retired law enforcement sergeant who was forced into retirement due to PTSD from a line of duty accident. Imagine what getting hit at extreme speeds by a drunk driver and pinned between the car and a guardrail can do to a person, both physically and mentally. Between his retirement and the struggles that came shortly after, we went through many fires, some way hotter than others. We are still standing here though. God was with us then, and remains with us.

The hubs is very much a behind the scenes man who supports the dreams of my business, and will be on dad duty during bake days and market days. It’s not always easy for him, but it’s something we have learned to work through.

The flags I sell, he does the majority of the work on. It’s something that calms his mind and gives him a purpose to help me. Idle hands to someone who has PTSD can be a very dangerous avenue, so he chooses to be as productive as his mind and body will allow.

For June and all the other months, this family speaks loudly about PTSD. It’s something that can be managed, but remains unpredictable. It’s something that when unmanaged can end a life. For those who have PTSD, you are not alone, and you are not invisible even though your struggles might be. We see you! Others see you!

Awareness months are about educating and bringing light for better inclusion. If you are unfamiliar with PTSD, it’s important to learn a little about it to help others who might struggle. At the very least, when you’re informed, it gives better acceptance to those who have it. PTSD is not a made up illness or disability; it’s very real and very hard at times. It is also a disability recognized and covered under ADA laws.

For PTSD Awareness month, we will be working on a promotion in honor of my husband who battles every day. I will release more information on Wednesday, so make sure you’re following and have notifications turned on! You don’t want to miss it.

🗣️If you are struggling with PTSD, or any mental health struggles, please get help and know there is no shame in it. If you are in crisis or in immediate need of assistance, call or text 988, or call 911. You don’t have to fight alone.

I hope everyone has had a wonderful Saturday, or at least have stayed dry!

We only had 2 orders this week for the new tshirt line, so I will not be doing a drawing for a free shirt. What’s better than 1 free giveaway? Two give aways! With that said, both of those who have ordered will receive a free shirt.

A huge thank you to Kim Miller and Kayla Smith for your support of my business by ordering T-shirt’s! I’ll be including a free shirt with your orders.
