Hey friends — I wanted to take a moment to share a quick update.

Crust & Crumb will be taking a short pause while I figure out what’s next for my baking setup. Unfortunately, the oven that I was renting was sold unexpectedly over the weekend (2 weeks ago) — without any prior notice — which put me in a bit of a tough spot. I originally did not want to have to share this post in hopes of finding a temporary solution, but I have already had to cancel 3 orders since it was sold. So here we are! 😞

Furthermore, my family used to consider this “person” a friend, & someone we cared about. So for them to flip a switch to being so deceptive & malevolent is sickening. It’s like; You’re more than than twice my age, but behave like someone who is less than half of it… GROW UP! 👍😎

I understand business is business, sometimes you have no control over a situation. Difficult decisions that can go on to affect others have to be made, and I get that. However the abruptness & absence of communication gives me reason to believe this person either didn’t actually care & wants me to see fail. So this really makes me question who I can trust in regard to the business moving forward.

It’s a little over two weeks since that dreaded Monday. I have been brainstorming & searching for another oven. However I still feel pretty devastated after investing so much time and love into building momentum this season, and it feels like a betrayal and will take some time to get over. Instead of I’m taking it as a loss, I’m choosing to see this as sign to regroup, refocus, and plan for an even stronger comeback. With a more refined approach, with more flavor. I’m going to practice my skills, hone my craft, and continue growing!

I can’t thank everyone enough for your continued support, encouragement, and love for my baked goods. Every kind word and order has meant the world to me, and I promise this isn’t goodbye — just a “see you soon.”

Stay tuned for updates as I get things sorted. The best is definitely YET TO to come. 💚🍪👨‍🍳

**P.S: If I have NOT reached out to you, to cancel your order then I still plan to fulfill it. My current home oven is VERY tempermental, untrustworthy for MOST items, & really just needs to be replaced… which I’m also looking into! luckily it still works great for pie! 🥧
***any leads or suggestions on where I can find an affordable convection oven(s) are greatly appreciated. I am also looking for a new home oven.

Therefore, I encourage any of my fans/ loyal customers to feel free to place an order with me anytime! I can bring it right to your home, or have it available for you to pickup at my home in Newfane. (On Rounds Rd.)

We will no longer be able to “POP-UP” at the Ransomville Methodist church event this weekend. Sorry to anyone I told I would be there. (Always looking for affordable markets & vendor fairs to join.

Please let me know if you’re aware of any good events for Crust & Crumb to host a “pop-up” at. As the warmer weather dwindles down I’m starting to panic about my income however I know things always have a way of working out! 💚🍪👨‍🍳

I Still can’t get over what a great turn out we had today! Definitely have to make both Apple Harvest & Blossom festivals an annual event for Crust & Crumb.

As a pastry chef who loves to create all kinds of baked goods & desserts. Choosing just one type of goodie to focus on is a real life nightmare for me.

However after opening i found myself doing a little bit of everything. While that is the end goal for C&C. It’s alot to take on right now all by myself.

After getting my “feet wet” this summer with my first few pop up shops & customer orders i have a little bit better of an idea of what customers want.

As the colder weather approaches I’m going to really focus on fine tuning my craft and brushing up on some old areas In which i used to really excel in like breads & yeast dough products, and see where this takes us. Cookies muffins and scones will still be available. But cakes & pies are going to be less of a focus going forward.
