Sit up because I want to talk to you about the new TOMATO-MELON SUNDAE at Hani’s.

There’s honey-roasted tomatoes, slivers of juicy Kiss melon (the BEST melon), a whole lot of candied almonds, and a drizzle of lemon verbena oil. Rather unexpected, very refreshing, tastes like the Italian vacation we keep day dreaming about.

Inspired by the all the tomato desserts MIRO USKOKOVIC made at Gramercy Tavern many years ago (tomato sorbet! tomato-peach cobbler!) and new favorites like Caffè Panna and Lisbonata.

ALSO, this is the last weekend for CARAMEL CORN SUNDAE. I know there are many, many, many fans of this one. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Chocolate Fudge sundae remains on the menu, as always. Plus, Triple Chocolate Chunk Cookies and big slices of cake. At the window, after hours, FridaysSaturdaysSundays.

COCONUT CAKE FOR DOLLY from a bakery filled with her fans.

Every time my parents ask us how we’re doing, Miro and I break out in a (admittedly terrible) rendition of 9 to 5. We’ve bought her cake mixes. We’ve played her songs. We’ve watched her movies. Miss Dolly was one of one.

This weekend, we’re putting out slices of a classic Southern-style coconut cake in her honor. 100% of the proceeds from this cake will go to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, an organization that gifts free books to young children.

Sold from 9 to 5 (or until sold out).

The scone of the season is ELOTE-inspired and packed with fresh, sweet pearls of corn, a sprinkle of cilantro, Tajín, and lots of Cotija, both inside and out. That tidy plank of charred corn on top stops me in my tracks every time.

The weather app been saying one thing, the farmer’s market is saying another and guess which one I’m choosing to believe in! HEIRLOOM TOMATO TOAST is new to the menu and it bringeth the bounty to us.

The “toast” is actually our squishy, airy, sourdough english muffin(!). Pimento cheese, dill flowers, snippets of chive—this tomato toast has it all.

Like all the sandwiches at Hani’s, this one is available from opening until 4pm (or whenever it sells out).
