God called Mama home one year ago today. Mama died in the house we all grew up in, the room her and I slept in as a child and in my bed! The woman who told people please don't tell Shalonda I am sick because I don't wont her to worry; last resting place was with me. To be honest I would have crashed out if she wasn't with me. I think you really prepared me for it. I pray I made you proud that day. When I went down stairs and Grace grabbed my face and told me I did a good job and you were proud of me. I knew that was you! I listened to everything you said because you said a lot but I didn't know it was in preparation for you leaving! The family is hurting but we are all GOOD! Thank you for never missing any important events in my life and showing up for not only for me but for everyone! This shop has put me in a position to meet some amazing people and I want to send a special thank you to Koki Nonya for helping us move things along that day. I cant forget no IG Kathy (cousin) who came right next door and let me know all would be okay, Jae Smith you walked me threw it; because of how you did with B Smith a couple months before, Alba Matters thanks for coming...we cried till 1am..you know your a granddaughter too, Jamaine Smith thanks for being there, Yvette Wilson Love you down!
Most importantly thanks to my Mother (Shileen)and Sister (Ruth) thanks for being there and helping me threw the grief and with Sofia and Grace (The butterballs). Life has been interesting for me but I am walking through it with my head held high! If I missed your name sorry thank to everyone!

Shoutout to all the people who now take care of their parents or grandparents. We all took a hand in taken care of Ma. But God Bless Uncle Sherrod and Aunt Dee!

So thats why we were closed for 4 months. But we are back open and moving forward! As mama would sing and I live by the words now...Where he (God) leads me I will follow. Rest well Ma! Love you forever, Shalonda (Modern Day Menia)
