Art Cake is a Sunset Park arts organization doing some really cool things. Until November 7th, they're exhibiting Blanco Guerrero's evocative grey textural landscapes and her photographs of water and wild grass. https://artcake.org/

Before we finish MAGIC IN PLAIN SIGHT tonight, we'd like to give a shout out to the community partners that helped make this experience so amazing. Art Cake has been staying open a little later to accommodate people seeing MAGIC IN PLAIN SIGHT who might want to add some visual art to their Sunset Park experience. We hope there's more collaborating with them in the future!

6BASE is pleased to present Blanca Guerrero: Corrientes, a solo exhibition featuring the artist's new paintings as well as a selection of her recent photographs, shown for the first time.

This will be the first exhibition held at 6BASE's new location at Art Cake, located at 214 40th Street in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.

In accordance with COVID-19 regulation, five people will be permitted in the gallery at a time. A face mask must be worn to enter and hand sanitizer will be provided.

Hello! As 6BASE has been following the NYC health guidelines through COVID-19, we are pleased to share that the new opening date for Blanca Guerrero: Corrientes is now October 1, 2020.

As part of Corrientes, Guerrero will exhibit a selection of her recent photographs along side her paintings for the first time.

For the ninth edition of SPRING / BREAK Art Show in New York, 6BASE’s founder & director, Marina Gluckman, will present Nathan Randall Green: Parallax.

The solo presentation will feature an immersive environment composed of canvases that will wrap the booth’s walls like a mural and these four large-scale paintings.
Throughout his practice, Green explores and celebrates a diverse array of visual phenomena that he finds compelling from the built and natural world. In a recent artist statement, Green explains, “These paintings begin as imaginary representations of the Inflationary Epoch, the brief moment of vast expansion in the primeval universe.”

Blanca Guerrero: Corrientes, a solo exhibition featuring new work by the artist, will open in May 2020 at 6BASE's new location in Brooklyn.

Guerrero is currently working in studio on a new body of work capturing water in motion.

Emmanuel Mauleón notes in the artist's most recent publication, "Guerrero's photographs [pictured here] present her audience with a comprehensive entry-point into her paintings....Guerrero employs photography not to preserve what one would typically remember from a scene, but as a point of redirection––she trains the viewer's focus on that which is overlooked."
