When I first moved to America and started at Restaurant Daniel in 2006, I remember @danielboulud telling me that I could create any kind of dessert I wanted, with one exception: no bananas. He hates them. In the six years I spent there, and looking back nearly two decades later, I’ll always be grateful to Daniel - my papa - for teaching me to challenge myself and take care of people. If ever given limitations or rules, it’s your responsibility as a chef to go above and beyond to make your guests feel special. If a regular requested a last minute soufflé, sure enough we’d start whipping those egg whites. A surprise engagement meant we’re quickly plating up a celebratory dessert for the happy couple on-the-fly. So when it came to writing my new book, Life’s Sweetest Moments, I wanted to dedicate a recipe to Daniel. I often get asked what I’d make for him, so naturally, I challenged myself with a Banoffee Pie, made with passion fruit-caramelized bananas. Because after all, when life gives you bananas, you make Daniel a Banoffee Pie…and bring it to him to try. 🙏 #lifessweetestmoments

The Chocolate Peanut Butter Candy Bar recipe is something that always reminds of travel…the flavors remind me of a Snickers bar, a little snack I used to grab in the airport in case I needed a little pick-me-up on a long flight.
