Now widely distributed in USA through a Californian based warehouse, the tried and tested design of PRO/RACE SFI dampers have stood the test of time and have been factory dyno tested and proved to withstand over 18,000 rpm at the SFI test lab. 2026 marks 40 years for Pro-Race Performance Products as an exporter of Harmonic Dampers to the US. Back in 1986 Graham Withers and the team sent the first batch of SFI dampers out of Melbourne, Australia to US customer B&M. Sometime later B&M made a strategy call to only sell their own internally produced products. The remaining stock holdings were purchased by Summit, and things kinda grew from there. At one time Pro-Race was supplying to all the Big-3 crate engine programs (I'm not allowed to tell you if we still do). If it's good enough for them maybe you should consider Pro-Race for your Harmonic Damper needs.

Cliff R from Victoria runs a 392 Hemi in his beautiful little '32 Ford. I love the colour. The motor runs our 64280 Pro-Racer 392 Hemi damper. Our Pro-Racer dampers are SFI certified and good for up to 800HP. Set it, forget it, and just enjoy driving that thing Cliff!

Pro-Race was sorry to hear of the passing of former racer and local Australian motorsport identity Ray Cutchie. Ray was a friend to Pro-Race. Ray worked on projects for Formula Ford and Formula Holden with us in the past. More recently (but still a few years ago) we helped on a harmonic damper for an aviation safety project that Ray was working on. Ray was involved with the famous Allan Moffat Coca Cola Mustang in the 1970s, and ran as a privateer at Bathurst for a number of years in the 1970s and 1980s. Thoughts to the family. RIP Ray Cutchie.

Tom Kuznicki is a long-time friend of Pro-Race. He, and his brother-in-law Jim Crawford always manned our booths at SEMA and PRI. Sadly, we haven't done much of that since COVID. Here's Tom in his trusty old Mustang. Tom runs a 302 with our 64270 Ford Pro-Racer harmonic damper. Tom was due to be on track with her today. Ok, so these are not Harmonic Dampers. Graham Withers was having a bit of a clean-up at his home. These parts go back to the origins of the Pro-Street brand and would have been sold through Graham's old Speed Shop back in the day. Pro-Street lives on through the Harmonic Dampers of today as one of three product streams: Pro-Racer, Pro-Sport and Pro-Street. Next year will mark 40 years since the first batch of dampers by Pro-Race Performance Products and we still hold OEM contracts. We must be doing something right!

The 'Pro-Racer' style harmonic damper from Pro-Race Performance Products incorporates a unique rolled-lip design that encapsulates the inertia ring. This super-safe damper easily meets the SFI Spec 18.1 requirements and has been spun up to 18,000 RPM. The 'Pro-Racer' will provide years of protection for your high-performance engine. The 'Pro-Racer' damper is not rebuildable and doesn't need to be. If you don't want to rebuild your damper at regular intervals or play with O-rings, and you just want to get in your car and enjoy driving it, then put a 'Pro-Racer' on your engine. Then get in your car and forget all about it.
