We are a third generation family-owned and operated bakery that has been serving the Brooklyn, New York area for over 50 years. Allan and his wife Gloria founded the bakery after friends and neighbors suggested he open a store for his many loaves of bread and pastries. Allan started baking products in one small residential oven and sold them from the back of his vehicle with his wife, son, and dau

ghters by his side. As time went on and business began to grow Allan and Gloria chose to move to a storefront location at 425 Saratoga Ave, Brooklyn, NY in 1961. The bakery quickly became popular, and they added a variety of new items to the menu, including an array of bread baked fresh daily. As business began to increase Allan realized that the size of the bakery would have to as well. After this realization, Allan and his wife moved the bakery to Nostrand Ave where it still stands today at 1107, 1109, and 1111 Nostrand Ave, Brooklyn, NY. Today, Allan's Bakery still keeps flavor and quality at the heart of its operation using old-fashioned baking methods with a focus on health and quality rather than convenience. The staff at Allan's Bakery aims to please its customers and counts attentive service among its many attributes because we realize that a product can only be as good as the people who sell it. It is our pleasure to share our special treats with you, your family and friends.

Happy Birthday Allan and Delia! With the help of an incredible team, this hard-working father-daughter duo ensures we can enjoy our Caribbean baked goods daily. Allan turned 90 today and Delia turned 62 yesterday. At 90 years old, today, Allan started his day like any other day, at 4:30 am on the production floor and was still going strong until 6:00 pm today.

Zoom vs. Reality... Happy National Ice Cream Day!!!
For almost a decade, we brainstormed and played around with different ways to mix our love of ice cream with currant rolls, and we finally decided on Ice Cream Currant Roll Cones. Since our currant rolls have always been vegan, we wanted the ice cream to be too, so we decided on a vegan coconut or soy soft serve. More information is coming soon! @ Allan's Bakery

This weekend leading up to J'ouvert and the parades is one of celebration, but we would be remiss if we didn’t also celebrate the life of Bill Howard who helped ensure these festivities continued year after year.

Bill Howard was the president of , organizer of this weekend’s festivities, Shirley Chisholm’s personal and campaign finance manager, a leader in the black and Caribbean community, and to us, he was family.

Allan and Bill’s friendship spanned over 40 years ago. Allan “will always remember Bill. He was family, and a resourceful, intelligent, problem-solving, kind person. If you needed any help or anything done; Bill was the man to count on!” Throughout the years Bill was consistently there and appreciated by Allan's three daughters Cynthia, Delia, and Sharon. Bill’s impact on our family and community will live on. His presence, smile, and delight when he was handed our bread pudding will be forever loved and profoundly missed. @ Allan's Bakery
