Happy from Little Skips 💚
Today and everyday, we want to remind you that Mother Earth needs all our help to protect her and our natural resources. According to scientific studies, 100% of global warming is due to human activity 😢

So consider one thing you can begin today to reduce your waste or consumption. One easy way is to bring a reusable mug every time you visit Little Skips or your favorite neighborhood coffeeshop. You can also purchase one of our thermoses at both locations or online.

Some things we’ve implemented at Skips to help move towards a model:
• we don’t default to putting any to-go’s in a bag. bags are also $.05 each (per NYC regulations)
• we partnered with to offer a cup check-out program to reduce single-use waste
• we encourage you to get your food & drinks “to stay”
• we make our chai and syrups in-house to reduce ordering excess products/packages/containers
• we compost all our organic waste with a local composting facility
• we started making alternative milks by partnering with and no longer go through hundreds of non-recyclable cartons
• we recycle all of our coffee bags with and offer this service for any customers to bring empty coffee bags back to us to recycle ♻️

We hope you’ll choose to make small change today to help in the fight against climate change 🌍

“Since making the decision to reopen all our coffeeshops in June, I am truly grateful for the massive support from our community. In all honesty, things have been a lot to manage; from still dealing with the existence of Covid-19, to a limited workforce and most importantly, figuring out how to find and amplify my voice to support the Black Lives Matter movement in a genuine way.

I know now that my path to America was paved by the efforts made by black lives during and after the Civil Rights Movement. Being an immigrant in America is hard but finding my voice in order to help other immigrants and marginalized groups is a promise I’ve made to myself; to never be silenced, to never stop fighting, and to continue to educate myself, my staff, friends and family on the importance of equal rights for all.

After a decade of serving Bushwick and opening our fourth location in Prospect Lefferts-Gardens, Little Skips will continue to be a reflection of these values. We don’t want things to ever return to “normal” because our old normal isn’t the America we are fighting for. Bushwick coffee shop moves toward zero waste by charging for disposable cups

Part of our Zero Waste Initiative, we will be charging a disposable cup surcharge in January. We encourage you to bring in your own cup for $.25 OFF your drink! Now’s the time to get that reusable cup as a gift for the holidays! We have cups available at both locations :)
