2 years ago I started habitually baking breads if all sorts almost every Friday on my singular weekly WFH day. I called it Bread Day Friday. Like most, I have been saddened, angered and disturbed by the massive spike of anti-Asian hate crimes not only in my own city and neighborhood but across the country. This week I will be doing a cupcake flash sale to raise money for who is tracking and combatting these crimes. 100% of sales will go directly to Stop AAPI Hate and myself, and will collectively match the sales 1:1. Two weeks ago I wasn’t even going to bother with Christmas cookies. Traditions feel wrong this year, but I knew dad would want me to do it. I threw myself into mixing, scooping, freezing, shaping, baking and decorating. I’ve been covered in flour for a week straight. It’s been a little therapeutic.

Those Santas were dad’s favorite last year. He thought they were adorable and was so impressed by them, so I stained my hands red and let them be at the forefront this year.

Wishing everyone a safe and merry Christmas this year, however different it may be from your norm. 🎄
