We’re finally expanding our fruit growing area for apple trees and raspberry bushes.
We’ve been growing veggies in the right section for a few years now.
We’ve been working with this clay soil and are going to give it a try for the trees.
Dave has cultivated and prepped, removing mountains of rocks!
Planting trees in a couple of days.
Black Oxford, Kingston Black, Novamac, Golden Delicious, Redfield and Wealthy.

If you’d like to add something unusual to your Apple tree collection, consider a Gravenstein.
These apples ripen early and are a great kick off to the apple season!
They are a triploid. Long story short you need two other early flowering apple varieties, or early flowering wild trees, to go with one of these trees. Give me a call if you need more information 207-778-1339.

This important fruit tree chore takes 5 minutes!
If you neglect to do it your trees will suffer.
Go out to your fruit trees, whether it be one tree or an orchard full.
Scout for caterpillar nests that look like the one in the picture. Grab your stepladder and a pair of gloves. Put your full hand around the caterpillar nest and pull toward you. Especially at this early stage, most of the caterpillars will be in the nest in the morning .
What you do from here is your choice. I toss it on the ground and stomp on it. More information in the link!
