!!Attention fellow Bakers!!
Did you know that you can make practically anything, with “sourdough discard”?
You’re probably wondering, what the heck is “sourdough discard”?? Well, it’s simply, inactive/unfed sourdough starter!!! Meaning, it’s thin like a pancake batter, and not bubbly or active due to not having been fed.
Often times, sourdough bakers find it easy to end up having an over abundance of “discard”. However, discard is so easy to use and bake with, there are TONS of sourdough discard recipes out there!!! Pancakes, waffles, brownies, cookies, cakes and cupcakes, muffins, and even bread, just to name a few!
So, if you enjoy baking, and have wanted to try baking with sourdough without the commitment of feeding and maintaining a starter, Discard Is where it’s at!!! I have been putting my discard into a butter mold and then freezing it for easy storage and usage. Each stick is a 1/2 cup of discard!! Most discard recipes that I’ve used call for 1/2 to 1 cup(or more sometimes).
And with that said……I’m offering up the sale of my frozen discard if anyone might be interested!!
1 cup of Frozen Discard(2 sticks) for $10
