RHINESTONES & ROLLING PINS WEEKEND

🦋 A DOLLY PARTON CELEBRATION 🦋

This weekend is a little extra special to me.

Dolly Parton was an absolute OBSESSION of mine from a very young age. The big hair. The rhinestones. The music. The larger-than-life personality. I loved ALL of it.

But as I got older, I realized Dolly gave me something much bigger than great music and a love for all things sparkly.

She was one of the first people who showed me that I could be DIFFERENT…and still be loved.

That I didn't have to make myself smaller to make other people comfortable.

That I could lead with a big heart.
That I could have overflowing compassion.
That kindness and strength could exist in the same person.
And that no dream was too damn big.

Her music and her story have carried me through some really hard times. They've reminded me more than once to pick myself up by the bootstraps, put my chin up, and KEEP GOING.

And I think a lot of the person I grew up to be, and even a little bit of the heart behind Sweet Beet, was influenced by that little girl who looked at Dolly Parton and thought:
..Maybe being a little different isn't such a bad thing...

So this weekend, we're celebrating the life, music, Food & legacy of one of my biggest lifelong role models the only way I know how...

WITH BUTTER.
WITH SUGAR.
WITH BIG HAIR ENERGY.
AND WITH AS MUCH GLITTER, RHINESTONES & LOVE AS WE CAN POSSIBLY HANDLE.

Oh, you thought we were done abusing the deep fryer?!

ABSOLUTELY NOT.

Next up for SWEET BEET STATE FAIR WEEKEND:

THE DEEP FRIED TW***IE CROISSANT

We took a buttery, flaky croissant…

STUFFED AN ENTIRE TW***IE INSIDE.

Then deep fried the whole beautiful monstrosity until golden and crispy and absolutely BURRIED IT IN POWDERED SUGAR.

It’s croissant.
It’s Tw***ie.
It’s deep fried.

At this point, we're basically just asking ourselves:

“Would they put it in a fryer at the State Fair?”

If the answer is yes… WE’RE DOING IT.

SWEET BERTHA’S COOKIE DOUGH

Ope. We couldn’t have a Minnesota State Fair-inspired weekend without a little nod to a certain famous bucket of cookies.

Meet SWEET BERTHA’S — our Sweet Beet spin on that warm-chocolate-chip-cookie-at-the-fair feeling.

And because everybody deserves to get in on this one, she comes TWO WAYS:

*Cookie Dough Croixnut
* Gluten-Free Cookie Dough Donut

Both loaded up with:

*Brown butter glaze
* A ridiculous scoop of chocolate chip cookie dough whip
*Mini chocolate chips
*Fudge drizzle

It tastes like somebody took the best part of licking the cookie dough spoon and the best part of a warm bucket of fair cookies and smashed them together.

SWEET BERTHA HAS ENTERED THE GRANDSTAND.
