My name is Chelsey, and I'm the mama of three amazing boys! I've been married to my wonderful husband for ten years, and we live in New Orleans, LA! I have always loved art and photography, and got my Bachelor's degree in fine art for California State University Northridge before getting my Master's degree in Art Therapy from St. Mary of the Woods College in Indiana. Life, the Coast Guard, and motherhood have pushed me into finding different ways to explore my artistic side. It is SO MUCH FUN to capture memories for families through photography. Whether it's first birthday cake smashes, anniversary shoots, "just because" family photos, or adoption and pregnancy announcements, I love catching the personalities and little big moments in life. I live for candids, and love to simply have fun in a session. I want to get to know YOU! I want to make sure each member of your family has a great time, and that I capture the little things about them that make them who they are. And yes, this includes your furry family members too. Well it's official. Jake and Maddy are THE cutest ever seriously!! We had so much fun doing their engagement photos and I loved every minute of getting to know them better. They met in band camp. They've been together since about tenth grade. He proposed with her mother's ring, in front of their closest friends and family. And last night, we just hung out in the park and celebrated this next chapter of their forever.
So grateful I got to meet them and they're going to have the best wedding in Louisiana!!

Their boys are hilarious and reminded me of my own- what is it with boys and wrestling non stop? 😂❤️ fun fact, this spot is one of the very first I would take clients to when I first started my business. It's so sweet, being back in Florida and getting to revisit so many of these spaces! ❤️

I got married 15 years ago. We worked so hard to choose the perfect venue with the perfect hors d'oeuvres. We set up touches of ourselves like croquet and bocce ball. We had lemonade! I was so excited and could totally imagine the cute photos of us playing lawn games with our guests. I pictured us greeting guests and chatting happily after saying our vows.

None of that happened. I never even SAW the lemonade and hors d'oeuvres. Never played croquet and bocce ball. Barely saw any of our guests. I dont even remember SPEAKING to my husband that day! Our day was a total whirlwind and even 15 years later, I wish I could go back and be more present. Couples... enjoy your day. TAKE THE TIME to enjoy your day! Join the cocktail hour. Value and create that space in your timeline of your day. Don't rush your photos and timeline to spend a few hundred dollars. HONESTLY. In 15 years, you might look back and wish you had that time and *these* photos. Do the portraits- spend time as just the two of you. But don't sacrifice the entire cocktail hour for it. ❤️❤️❤️ big shout out to this sweet couple who let me know in our very first consult meeting that cocktail hour was KEY and they were NOT missing it haha!
