Hello to all my Pudge Cakes Fans...Long time, no post!

It seems it is that time of year and I've had hundreds of requests and comments this month about these cookies I made in 2014. This photo has been pinned on Pinterest over 25 THOUSAND times that I can track, even used in cookie articles, with & without permission. Back then I was operating my retail bakery and did not share recipes or how to videos.

I would still love to create a tutorial for these and other treats. I just need to find the time to do it! If you are interested please comment on this thread and I will be sure to notify you when I complete it! Many thanks for all the awesome comments.

Back in early 2009 I experimented with fondant for the first time while making my husband Chris (at that time he was my boyfriend) a pirate ship birthday cake. Admittedly, I thought it was awesome, but looking back now...it was really rough! Boy, did I have a lot to learn. My passion for creating custom cakes grew from that first meager attempt. I experimented and taught myself everything I could about the art of cake decorating, never once taking an actual class about baking or decorating.

I dreamt of the day I could turn this passion into a full time career. For years I made cakes for family and friends, work functions or just because I wanted to test out a new technique. In 2011, I decided to take the plunge and open my own bake shop. I researched, planned and created Pudge Cakes. In 2012, I left my full time career to strike out on my own. After months of hard work, blood, sweat and more than a few tears I opened my bake shop on October 12, 2012 with the help of my family and friends! (Thank you chris, mom, sam, dom, uncle jerry, christopher, renata, arnold, aunt julie, michelle, dan & everyone else I can't remember at the moment!)

On November 18, 2012, Chris & I were married by Mayor Keller in the front retail area of the bakery with 20 members or our immediate family.

Since June 2012, I have worked harder than I could have ever imagined. I have met some of my most cherished friends through this venture. I became involved in community charities and both the Delaware River Towns Chamber & the New Hope Chamber of Commerce. Through these organizations I met so many people, I would have to tag my whole Facebook list, you know who you are and I grateful for having worked along side you. I have become friends with other hard working small business owners and have enjoyed our many interactions.

I have had some of the best customers EVER! I enjoyed watching your reactions when you see your cakes for the first time and saying "yes, thats your cake, and YES, you HAVE TO CUT and EAT IT!" I appreciate having been chosen year after year to celebrate your special events.

In my business, I have reached many milestones, including being featured on the Food Network in August 2015. I am also excited to have competed on Cake Wars which will air MONDAY, AUGUST 29th at 9pm on the Food Network.

In late June of this year my husband received a promotion in which he will be traveling to many destinations around the world, and which will have us moving out of the area. We came to the decision to list Pudge Cakes for sale in July as we knew we would not be local residents for the extended future.

Today, I can finally announce we are under contract to a fellow baker from NJ and we will be closing the retail shop in just 8 DAYS. Yes, thats right... Pudge Cakes last day open to the public will be Saturday, September 3rd.

All of our current orders are being completed as normal and will be on time and just as delicious and gorgeous as expected!

On Sunday, September 4th I will be delivering a wedding cake and then heading to JFK to meet Chris in Ireland and then on to England, Qatar and South Africa! I look forward to many new adventures traveling around the world and creating art.

Thank you to each one of you who have been my "fans" and helped me exceed my expectations & dreams at Pudge Cakes!
