❤️ A little thank you from Aurora’s Sweets

When I was younger, I thought passion was something you pursued no matter what. If you loved something enough, you would keep doing it regardless of the circumstances.

After becoming a stay-at-home mom to take care of Aurora and building Aurora’s Sweets, I’ve learned a few more things.

I would bake no matter what, simply because I love it. But spending countless hours baking and going to markets wouldn’t make much sense if nobody wanted what I made. I wouldn’t be able to justify making it my full-time job, and honestly, I might still wonder if I was any good at it. (Like, baking is my passion, but I suck at it. 😅😂)

That’s why I want to say thank you.

Thank you for choosing my baked goods, coming back, recommending me to your friends, and giving something I create in my kitchen a place in your lives.

Every purchase gives me more than income. It gives me confidence in my skills, courage to keep growing, and the opportunity to turn something I love into something meaningful for my family.

It’s a rainy Friday, and instead of going to a regular job, I get to stay in my kitchen making croutons, cookies, scones, and bread for tomorrow’s market.

It’s my privilege, and I have all of you to thank for it.

I actually use my non-sweet Japanese milk bread to make croutons. I love the complexity of its flavor and how it transforms into something light, airy, and crispy when toasted.

Cut a few days-old bread into cubes. Toss generously with extra virgin olive oil, garlic powder, and Italian herbs. Don’t be shy with the olive oil, it makes a difference.

Preheat your oven to 450°F. Spread the bread cubes on a baking tray and bake, keeping a close eye on them. Rotate the tray and toss the cubes halfway through, or as needed, to help them toast evenly.

I personally toss them with a little extra oil a few times throughout the process. The whole thing may take up to 30 minutes or more, depending on your bread and oven.

One important warning: PLEASE DON’T WALK AWAY FROM THE OVEN! These little guys can go from beautifully golden to burnt surprisingly quickly.

As you can see in the pictures below, this little spot is a bit away from the main crowd of the market, so it might be easy to overlook. But trust us, it’s a hidden gem definitely worth a stop! 💎🥰
